A recent trip to Jaipur in India, I was amazed to see what this comparitive small city has achieved that big cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Dubai haven't.....getting rid of plastic bags!
I learned that in Jaipur one could be fined 1000 Rs for giving platic bags as a shop owner and even for accepting plastic bags as a customer.
Result.....the city is almost clear of plastic bags, none found any more on roads, none in garbage bags and no more worrying about environment.
If Jaipur can do it, can others not follow? a thought!
